Trip door Oost-Europa - Trip along Eastern Europe

Ik heb de laatste twee weken niet stil gezeten en ben ondertussen aanbeland in Sofia, Bulgarije.

Van 17 t/m 29 juni heb ik Zlatna na Ostrove geweest, zoals gezegd in mijn vorige blog. Na die tijd hebben we nog toffe momenten met elkaar gehad, waarbij we kanoën, paardrijden, container beschilderen, kampvuur maken en BBQ'en.
Ook gingen we een 'feest van culturen' houden waarbij we ieder een specialiteit maakten, zodat we al die dingen konden proeven. Hierbij werden de lokale boeren ook uitgenodigd. Als rasechte nederlander kwamen de volgende dingen op tafel: Stroopwafels, drop en brood mét hagelslag. Gelukkig hoefden we niet zoveel voor te bereiden, want de rest van de dag was iedereen al druk in de keuken bezig. (zie foto voor het resultaat)

Het werk op de boerderij was niet bijzonder inspirerend, maar de groep mensen maakte het voor mij twee bijzondere weken waar ik leuke contacten aan het overgehouden. Zo kon ik bij één iemand zijn ouders terecht in Servië, waar ik twee nachten gebleven ben en een rondleiding heb gekregen door Novi Sad. Ik ben daar heel hartelijk ontvangen en goed verzorgd! (André of Ivan, als je ooit in Nederland bent, laat het me weten!)

Tussen het workcamp en Novi Sad ben ik nog in Budapest geweest, met iemand anders van het workcamp. Zij had een adres op couchsurfing en een vriend van haar was daar ook. Zo hebben we Budapest gezien met een interessant gezelschap wat bestond uit: Een hongaar (die onze gids was), iemand uit Mexico (die ik een lift heb gegeven naar Budapest vanaf het workcamp), iemand uit India (die zij vanuit Mexico kende), en ik.

Vervolgens ben ik naar Nationaal park gegaan tegen de Donau/Roemeense grens. Daar heb ik samen met een 'ranger' (anders mocht je het park niet in) en twee Tsjechische journalisten naar een heel smal punt van de Donau geweest, wat daardoor erg hoog lag. De 'ranger' was een man van de natuur en zijn engels was dramatisch, maar hij deed goed zijn best en we konden elkaar redelijk begrijpen.

Omdat ik in de eerste week van juli geen 'host' kon vinden op workaway.info ben ik nu aanbeland in Sofia met Airbnb. Die stad ga ik morgen bekijken en dan ben ik 8 t/m juli met een Nederlands/Duits stel een houten huisje aan het maken in Bulgarije, maar daarover later meer!

I was quiet on my blog last two weeks, but I was busy. I have just arrived Sofia, Bulgaria.

I was from 17 till 29th of June in Zlatna na Ostrove, as i have written in my last blog. After the writing of that blog we had a lot of nice moments together, like canoening, horse riding, painting a container, making campfire and have a barbeque.
We had also a feast of cultures, which means that we must make a specialty of your own country. The whole day we were in the kitchen and make delicious dishes, which we (and the local farmers) enjoyed. See the picture. As real dutchies we took something from the Netherlands, like Stroopwafel (2 layers of biscuit with caramel), drop (liquorice, in sweet, but we have also salt tastes), and 'brood met hagelslag' (bread with chocolat sprinkles, and we eat the chooclat sprinkles a lot).

The work on the farm was not so special, because I know how to work, but the group of people was very nice! I have some nice contact through Europe and more :)
I could stay for two nights in Serbia by Ivan his parents. I was very well treated by his parents and it felt almost like a hotel. I visited the city Novi Sad with his brother (André) and did some sight seeing. (Both thanks a lot! If you are in the Netherlands, let me know!)

Between the workcamp and Novi Sad I have seen Budapest, with someone else from the workcamp. She has an account on couchsurfing and a friend of her was there too. In a evening an a long day we have seen Budapest with een interesting group: Me, our host from Hungary (who was our guide through the city), a girl from Mexico (which I gave a ride from the workcamp) and a guy from India (who knows the girl from Mexico)

After Novi Sad I travelled to a National Park close to the border of Romania, near the Danube. I went with a 'ranger' and two reporters of the national televison to a beautiful sightseeing on a small, high point from the Danube. The ranger his English was very bad, but he said that he loves the nature and not the tourists. But he tried very well and we understood each other.

Because I could not find a host in the first week of July i have changed my plans. For the next two days I am in Sofia through Airbnb. From 8 till 15 of July I have a host on workaway.info which is a Dutch/German couple and they have plans of making a small house from wood.
